Welcome to the Baringa SPS Parents and Citizens Association

Why join?

Actions always speak louder than words when it comes to valuing your child’s learning. Joining the P&C is one of the best ways to show your children how much you value their education and how interested you are in what they do.

By joining the Baringa State Primary School P&C, you are showing your children how committed you are to helping students and your school community. Participating in P&C activities can also help you to form friendships with other parents/carers and feel a part of your school community.

A lot can and has been achieved through our P&C and school working together towards common goals. To continue this important work, the Baringa State Primary School P&C needs people from all walks of life and with a range of talents who are committed to delivering great outcomes for their children and school.

Everybody has a role to play and your ideas will be heard. The more people involved, the more exciting and successful it will be. And research shows that children perform better at school when their parents are involved in their education.

Who is Eligible for P&C Membership?

The following persons are eligible to be members of the Association:

  • a parent of a child/student attending the school

  • a staff member of the school

  • an adult who is interested in the school’s welfare.

The Principal of the school is automatically a member of the Association and holds a vote the same as any member.

An employee of the Association is eligible to be a member of the Association, but may not hold an executive position.

Membership of the Association is renewable each year at the Annual General Meeting.

How Can I Help?

Are you interested in contributing your thoughts on school policy?

Do you have a spare hour or two when you can help out in Baringa Bytes, our school tuckshop? Can you find 1-2 hours once a month to attend a P&C meeting? These are all ways you can be part of your school’s P&C.

Just by joining your P&C, you can add your voice to what’s happening in the school.

As a P&C member, you can contribute opinions on:

  • positive school-wide behaviours

  • fundraising activities

  • where to allocate funds raised to improve the school for our students

  • community events and building a stronger school community

  • school routines

  • P&C budget

  • school budget

  • school surveys

Remember: the things you do make a real difference, so why not join your P&C?

Please contact us for more information on how to become involved in your P&C and its activities.

OUR PROJECTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

The Baringa State Primary School Parents and Citizens Association has organised a number of initiatives since the school was established in 2018. We have achieved a lot in this short space of time. Some of our projects and achievements are highlighted below.

2022 | New Instruments

Proudly approved funding of approximately $10,000 for the purchase of new instruments to further support the development of the Instrumental Music program at the school. These funds will allow for the growth of the instrumental music program, and more equitable access to instruments for students from year 4 through to year 6.

Over $6000 in support to establish the Games Reward room in the school.

2022 | Free Access

Funding free access to the Year 5 Leadership incursion day in Term 4.
